ve been designing and making studio pottery since 2010. In 2023, I moved the studio to its new home at the Atlas Works in Carlisle. Here I host workshops, parties and evening classes as well as making my own pieces that I sell locally, online and all over the UK.
It all started back in 2010 after leaving The University of Cumbria with my degree in Contemporary Applied Art, specialising in ceramics. I bought my first kiln with the left over student loan money I had, and a few bags of clay.
In 2014, I moved to Newcastle to complete my PGSE in Art, Craft and Design before moving to Stoke on Trent in 2015 to complete my NQT. The passion for clay grew as did the machinery, bags of clay and enthusiasm! I moved back to Cumbria in 2017 to fully focus on ceramics and left my role of teaching in 2018.
As the passion grew, my kitchen was converted into a pottery. I enjoyed working in there, with my rescue dog Pepper by my side and my trusty (now slightly famous) dressing gown on.
In 2019, things got serious when the arrival of the purple beast arrived. My faithful and reliable Northern Kiln and when the pandemic struck, I took the opportunity to fully throw myself into the pottery and my making.
In 2023, the pottery ramped up further with the arrival of the studio space. The kitchen studio was cleared and the new unit was transformed into the most beautiful creative studio. In March, the doors were opened to the public.
I'm also on the hugest plastic free mission. So if you order from me, there wont be a single shred of plastic used in the packaging. Even the tape is plant based! I try to live an eco friendly life as best I can. There is no planet B guys!
