Music at the Bandstand

Visitors can enjoy soaking up the atmosphere and springtime spirit with some feel-good classics from the Bandstand. 

In 2025 there will be musical delights from Buble-style Shane Sings Swing, a silent disco to get your body moving and endorphins pumping, as well as a set by DJ Dean on Sunday. It's shaping up to be the perfect soundtrack for a day full of wellness, shopping and crafting fun.

Shane Sings Swingaccordian title

Shane is recognised within the music industry as both a very talented jazz/swing singer and a versatile and accomplished performer. As a professional singer, Shane has performed a number of highly acclaimed one-man shows in jazz clubs and theatres in the UK and across cruise ships across the world, and is widely regarded as one of the country’s top swing singers and is in constant demand with many big bands and orchestras including the Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Orchestra.
 
Shane was asked by Universal Records to record Michael Bublé’s hit single ‘Home’ for the compilation album ‘You Raise Me Up – 2008’. In March 2009, the recording was re-released as the title track on a double CD featuring such artists as Katherine Jenkins, Hayley Westenra, Russell Watson, Louis Armstrong, Boyzone, Lesley Garrett, Girls Aloud, Jamie Cullum and many more. Since then, Shane’s version of ‘Home’ has appeared on 6 top 10 albums World-wide, with more of the biggest stars in the music world.

Recent performances include some of London’s most prestigious jazz clubs such as Ronnie Scott's, Pizza Express and 606 Club, in his own right and with the Ronnie Scott’s Big Band, Syd Lawrence Orchestra, Peter Long Orchestra, Nick Ross Orchestra, The Debbie Curtis Radio Big Band, The Len Phillips Big Band and around the country with his own big band and swing band.

Shane released his debut single, 'Brazil' - arranged by Evan Jolly - which reached number 1 in the iTunes Jazz Chart, above Frank Sinatra, Gregory Porter and Ella Fitzgerald. DJ Deanaccordian title

An accomplished DJ with over 20 years' experience in the entertainment industry, Dean is the first-call DJ for all National Football League fixtures and events in the UK including the massive NFL on Regent Street & NFL KickOff Piccadilly  fan promotion in Central London and the NFL Summer Bowl festival. Game days you’ll find him playing the NFL Tailgate Party to an 80,000+ Wembley Stadium crowd at a pre-match "Fan Plaza" show.

Corporate clients include The BBC, IBM, The Labour Party, Pepsi, CenterParcs, Jack Morton, Lloyds of London, Sainsbury's, Eurosport, HP, Sytner, Roche, Rolls Royce, The Savoy Hotel, The National Football League NFL , Colchester FC, Ipswich Town FC and Charlton Athletic FC, Essex County Cricket. 

For the last three years Dean has also been selected by The BBC to DJ at their prestigious Worldwide Showcase at The Liverpool Echo Arena, a spectacular celebration of the broadcaster's global brands featuring stars and presenters such as Graham Norton and headlining musical acts, Backstreet Boys and Tinie Tempah.

Other regular gigs include Dean’s Thursday night residency at One Under Lime which, nestled beneath London’s iconic Lloyd’s building, has become one of the Square Mile’s hippest & most popular drinking & dining venues. Sing Space musical theatre choiraccordian title

Richmond Sing Space Musical theatre choir meets every Wednesday evening during term time at the Richmond and Putney Unitarian church in central Richmond. We love to sing songs from musicals and we sing at local festivals and fairs. There are 40 sing space choirs nationally and last year we joined Gareth Malone on stages all over the country for his UK tour. The new term starts again at the end of April and we love to have new members. You can find more information here;
